Sierra’s APR story is helping to save more lives

After Sierra posted an ultrasound image of her unborn daughter on social media, explaining that the child was saved through Abortion Pill Reversal, the ripple effect began to save other lives.

Sierra had taken the first abortion pill out of fear and desperation. Because her baby’s life was saved through the Abortion Pill Reversal (APR), out of gratitude and love, she began sharing her story at events and online.

A December 2025 social media post with the three-plus year-old ultrasound image of her nine-week-old unborn baby garnered thousands of views.

“That video on TikTok went viral,” Sierra said. “I think it's at like 350,000 views at this point and thousands of shares and comments.”

The surprises didn’t stop with views, shares, and comments.

“A woman reached out to me, and she said, ‘I took the first pill like 18 hours ago – what can I do?’” told Pregnancy Help News.

“I immediately connected her to the [APR] hotline,” said Sierra. “It was over the weekend, so she couldn't go to a woman's center until that Monday. The whole time I just kept talking to her and praying with her.”

The Abortion Pill Rescue Network (APRN) includes nearly 1,500 healthcare professionals, pregnancy centers, and hospitals worldwide that administer the APR protocol.

The woman had an ultrasound when her local pregnancy center opened on Monday. The image revealed not just one - but two heartbeats, Sierra said. The woman chose life for her twins and is receiving the APR treatment, taking progesterone prescribed by the center’s doctor.

Sierra remains in contact with her, and mother and babies are doing well, she said.

The fact her APR story is affecting lives so positively has fueled her passion to share it in hopes of helping others.

“God just ignited a fire inside of me, like this is what it's all about,” Sierra stated. “I just feel like it's important that everyone hears about it.”

But the life-saving effect of her story hasn’t stopped there.

Two other women have reached out to her, including one in January who is now also undergoing the APR progesterone protocol. Sierra remains in touch with her as well. The other hasn’t reached out again so Sierra doesn’t know if that woman followed through in contacting the APR hotline.

When a story makes a difference

What began as a flicker of an idea to share her story with the world via social media began last year when she spoke at the Ohio March for Life.

“I had been praying for months at that point for God to continue to use my story,” she said. “It was one of the most incredible things I've ever been a part of.”

She also spoke at a Walk for Life event in the fall hosted by a local pregnancy center. That organization began offering APR after Sierra visited with staff and shared her story. She said she highly encouraged them to begin providing APR – the closest pregnancy medical clinic that does had been about two hours away, she said.

“There are women that can’t make that two-hour drive. There are women that can't make the three-hour drive, however far it may be,” Sierra said. “This is very important, I told them.”

“They contacted me probably six months ago and told me they are now offering APR services,” she said. “And they asked me to announce it at their annual Walk for Life in October. So, I was able to share my story in my community at our City Park. That was huge!”

Sierra also recently shared her story at a local chapter of a national Christian mom’s group, for which she said she was nervous.

“I thought ‘I don’t really know if they need to hear what I have to say or if they’re going to accept me with my story,’” Sierra said.

However, she followed through, and to her surprise, one woman shared about the abortion she had 10 years previous and had kept secret.

“Through me sharing my story, she was able to get some freedom and support,” Sierra said. “I was able to connect her with some abortion recovery support groups, so that was really neat.”

She added that the education about APR was also vital for that group.

“None of them knew Abortion Pill Reversal is a thing,” she said.

Abortion Pill Reversal

Chemical abortion consists of two pills, mifepristone and misoprostol. Mifepristone blocks progesterone, the natural hormone in a pregnant woman’s system necessary to sustain pregnancy. Misoprostol, taken a day or so later, causes the woman to go into labor and deliver her deceased child.

If a woman has taken the first abortion pill and acts quickly enough it may be possible to save her unborn child through APR. The protocol entails prescribing bioidentical progesterone to counter the effects of mifepristone. Results are best within 24 hours, but successful reversals have occurred after 72 hours. To date, statistics show that more than 7,000 lives have been saved with APR.

Sierra believes God is opening doors for her to educate others, to reach women who have taken the abortion pill and those who one day might know someone who needs to know there is another choice after taking the first pill.

“I feel like I went through all the things that I went through for this – sharing my story and helping others,” she said.

Sierra will be speaking at the annual Heartbeat International Conference this year, which will be held March 25-27 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and she has applied to become a national speaker through the Christian speakers group Ambassador Speakers.

Gratitude, and a new family

Sierra’s baby Sawyer turns three years old this year. Sometimes when Sierra takes part in speaking engagements, she brings Sawyer on stage with her.

Their lives have come full circle. She and Sawyer’s father have reunited, and they are engaged, with plans to marry later this year. Both operate their own businesses, and God and their child are the center of their lives, individually and as a couple. Each have other children as well, so a full family with God at the helm await them after they say, ‘I do.’

Sierra plans to continue speaking and sharing her story, online and in person. Women are fed lies about pregnancy and abortion, she said, and she desires to combat those, such as that a baby will ruin your life and taking the abortion pill is easy, and what’s inside the womb is just a clump of cells, not a real baby.

“In my video I said, ‘She’s not just a clump of cells, and her life matters,’” Sierra told Pregnancy Help News. “And it’s not too late if you’ve taken the first abortion pill. There are so many people that are understanding and supportive and want to help regardless of what your situation looks like. That’s also true for men, who frequently get left out or feel they have no say.”

Sierra often reflects upon her life during the past three years, doing so with a grateful heart, and she includes the pregnancy help movement and the APRN in her thanksgiving.

“If it weren't for them, my baby wouldn’t be here,” she said. “They saved her life and mine, and I'm just so thankful.”
