“Rescue those who are being taken away to death, hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter” - Proverbs 24:11
“Do you want to visit a concentration camp?” This was a question I was asked when I was in Austria sharing about the ministry of Beautiful Feet.
I was speechless as I looked at my new friend. Did I want to visit a concentration camp? Absolutely not. I did not want to think about those horrors.
And yet, I felt a responsibility to go.
I knew that looking away would not erase the evil. And so, we went to the place where unspeakable things had occurred.

I saw the swimming pool where the soldiers would swim after a day of torturing people. I saw the gas chamber and the crematorium. I saw pictures of those who suffered unspeakable things.
I remembered a story I heard about a church that was near the railroad tracks where prisoners were transported to concentration camps.
The story says that the church members could hear the prisoners screaming for help as they passed by the church. The congregation did not want to hear the screams. Their solution was to sing a little louder so as not to be disturbed by the cries for help.
As I walked where people were tortured for years, I thought about the evil that continues today, the senseless destruction of the unborn.
We can be tempted to turn away, to ignore the evil because it is hard to face. If we close our eyes and sing a little louder, we may not hear the silent cries of the unborn.
As I stood at the site of unimaginable suffering, I remembered the suffering of the innocent that is occurring as I write this. We cannot look away because it is painful. We must speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Evil existed then and it exists now. As God’s children, we must be a voice for the voiceless. We must speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. In Austria and across the globe, the unborn are being destroyed because of fear and ignorance and evil.
Will we sing a little louder to drown out their silent cries or will we speak for them?
As we minister to pregnant women and girls each day around the world, we protect them and their unborn children. We tell them of a Father who loved them so much, He sent His Son to die for them. We speak of a hope and a future, giving them courage to choose life, knowing they are not alone.
Pregnancy ministry is coming alongside women who feel afraid, alone, and desperate. We show them that God loves them and that they and their children are fearfully and wonderfully made and that each life is a gift.
