A pregnancy center in Bowling Green, Ohio, has changed its name to reflect its expanded range of programs and services.
The Bowling Green Pregnancy and Family Life Center was previously HerChoice and began in 1985 with pregnancy tests, a baby boutique, and parenting classes. In 2006 a medical clinic with ultrasound and a medical director was added.
For at least 15 years, post-abortion healing support has been offered, with the center seeing more clients who have had an abortion. STI testing was added in 2019.
In 2023, Abortion Pill Reversal consulting was made available to clients, with ultrasound used to confirm continued viability of the pregnancy after the first round of abortion pills.
Along with many pregnancy centers across the U.S., Bowling Green Pregnancy and Family Life Center now offers support for men needing decision coaching, as well as dad-centered parenting classes and support.

Also on staff is an Event Coordinator, a woman who came to the center about a year ago suffering from a previous abortion. After completing the center’s post-abortion support program, “she felt God calling her to be a part of the ministry that helped her find healing and wholeness.” Executive Director Rochelle Sikora said.
Sikora explained a new fundraising effort for the center.
“We are in the middle of a very exciting $3.8M capital campaign to raise the needed funds to renovate a new space for the pregnancy center,” she said. “We’re up to 62% of our goal already. We had a groundbreaking ceremony in August and hope to be moving in a year from now.”
The groundbreaking for the new facility took place on August 27, 2026, at the site of a former church. An astounding $400,000 anonymous donation was made in support of the Sparks of Light Campaign for the new facility.
The campaign is providing the support necessary to renovate the facility while strengthening the center’s ability to fulfill its mission well into the future.
“The groundbreaking was an important milestone, but our work is not finished,” said Mike Ginnetti, campaign chair. “This challenge gives our community an opportunity to build on the incredible generosity that has brought us this far.”
The new facility will provide expanded, welcoming space where women and families will receive compassionate support, resources, and services. The project represents an important investment in the center’s ability to serve families throughout the region for generations to come.
“This generous challenge comes at such an important moment for our campaign,” said Sikora. “We have celebrated the groundbreaking and can now see this vision becoming a reality.”
Bowling Green Pregnancy and Family Life Center discusses the benefits of abstinence and marriage with its clients, and with permission, encourages faith in Jesus Christ.
The center is “permission-based care, so nothing is forced,” says Sikora.
“We always inform clients that we are a faith-based organization and ask if faith plays a role in their life and/or in their decision-making process and then follow their lead,” she said.
One recent client story highlights the ongoing effects of pregnancy assistance.
“One mom came to us because she’d heard about us from a friend,” Sikor said. “She was married, but both she and her boyfriend were in grad school and determined to get an abortion.”
“After hearing the heartbeat of their little one on ultrasound, they decided to choose life!” she said. “They graduated from our parenting education program, graduated from grad school, and welcomed their son all within the span of a couple of years. All are doing well!”
